Interest in mechanical engineering, electronics and vehicle flight at a young age led me into a career in engineering. First completing a degree in Aerospace Engineering improved my capability in aircraft design, followed by an M.Sc. in Management & Engineering to broaden my engineering knowledge further and provide vital management skills, including financial, legal and team management ability. Since working with people at all levels of seniority and with a multitude of clients from well known car manufacturers, my developed ability to interact with people has been advantageous to my work.

My passion for sailing started when I was 6 years old, when my Grandfather first introduced me to boating. Since then I have skippered sailing voyages across the English Channel and skippered a multitude of races around the Isle of Wight, including the Round the Island Race and The Industry Sailing Challenge; totalling over 2500 logged miles.

My professional experience largely being in the automotive industry for the last ten years, after working at Pegasus Aviation as part of my university industrial experience and in the following year prior to completing my MSc, led me through a path that included automotive power-train design in light duty diesel engines, high performance gasoline engines for super-cars and hybrid power-train design and development, including system and vehicle integration. Leading complete design teams through turnkey engine programmes, from concept to start of production.

Before joining Tim at Verney Yachts I attained the position of Assistant Chief Engineer with Ricardo UK Ltd, which included the role of programme manager for heavy duty diesel engines, leading project proposals and marketing campaigns, financial forecasting and financial budgeting of projects within the product group. Also including peer to peer marketing and selling techniques, which include promoting services and products provided by our engineering consultancy, tracking order book value and trends, creating and organising promotional material. I am currently developing a new hybrid power-train - another passion of mine to make life a little greener.
